I am a wife of 15 years, a mom to a miracle 7-year old daughter and -when I'm not busy filling those roles- I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor! I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University. I have served at Sheridan House Family Ministries for over 15 years. I specialize in children, teen girls, women, parenting, and marriage. I am trained in EMDR Trauma Therapy, SYMBIS Marital and Pre-Marital Counseling, Play Therapy, Christian Counseling, CBT, Cognitive Therapy, Family Therapy and Conflict Resolution Therapy. I am also a Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida.
...Also, I have the cutest and cuddliest co-worker, Sadie- be sure to check out her bio too!
I approach counseling through a holistic lens. We are created body, mind, and soul- so I aim to get a clear picture of each area of your life so I can understand your symptomology and the impact it has on your functioning. You will leave each session with a "challenge" as we work together to improve your body, mind and soul!
I really enjoy getting to know my clients and because I have a high regard for the counselor-client connection, I want you to relax in my living-room-like office, eat a snack, drink some water, put your feet up and get some Golden Retriever cuddles from Sadie (if you're into that sort of thing...don't worry, I have lint rollers).
My mission verse is 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” The Lord used this verse to give purpose to the pain I was enduring at 10 years old and that's when I knew I wanted to be a therapist ...at the age of 10!
So now you know a bit about me, I can't wait to get to know you too!
